TALENTS

TALENTS, we all have them. We're all excellent at some things, good at others, fair in some aspects, and really suck at some occasionally. The trick here is not to let the bad keep you from doing the good. The "Aw why should I even try, I can't do it anyway" type of thinking prevents you from taking on the challenge at hand. If you get knocked down, get back up, knocked down, get up, knock down, get up, etc. You catch my drift. You remember "Cool Hand Luke" at the fists of George Kennedy, even though he lost the fight he won the respect of all because he wouldn't stay down and surrender. You can build a mountain one boulder at a time. It might be a bitch with each large stone, straining to get it up there, but when you are finished, Man what a view. This not only applies to our Legislative efforts but to life in general. Do and enjoy the things you are good at, and work on the the aspects you are lousy at [like bowling maybe]. By in large quitting is not an attribute, except in the case of bad habits i.e. smoking, drinking, kicking dumb animals, holding up liquor stores, perverted sex acts [you know who you are, I've got the pictures], and the like. They say the average millionaire failed at least 7 times before they came up with a solution that succeeded. Thomas Edison tried like 300 some different filaments to give us the light bulb, if he gave up we would be sitting in the dark! Very seldom does anything work the first time. You got to Keep On Keeping On. Heck we wouldn't even be riding our motorcycles if we didn't get back on after we dumped them at first. I often hear people say "Yeah, I had a bike once but it crashed and I sold it." We all experience the joy of riding because of perseverance. Personally I have [starting at the bottom] 3 broken toes, 2 shattered ankles, 40 stitches right leg, torn ligaments both knees, broken tailbone, 3 cracked ribs, tore my nose off, laid back the skin on my forehead and the top of my scalp [you know that little button on the top of your cap can peel your noggin if you land on it], multiple brain concussions [they say it causes Dain Bramage but I don't think it has affected me any]. And I still look forward to riding as soon as this slush and muck of winter is done. Live, Love, and Enjoy! On to chapter news; The chili cook-off went well, lotsa different recipes, all were good but the winners were 1st place<>Nate Knuth- 2nd place<>Rick Niezwaag- 3rd place<>Bonnie Wudell- People's Choice<>Nate Knuth. Thanks to all who entered although I needed a little Pepto after eating too much of everything, it was all soooo tasty. Don't tell anyone but our next secret meeting is April 5th at the Chancellor Bar in Chancellor @ 1PM. If ya flap yer lips about it we'll rub ya out. Where's my eraser? Later, Wiz
