Let's see HUMMM, what should we talk about for
this installment of the Zzen Chapter's Wiz Rant? Gratitude, nope done that,
Compassion, done that too, Old school vs. New school, covered that, even got the
shirt! I've got to get this done so I can get to other things, never seem to
have the time or the patience to get everything done. AH HA!! That's it;
PATIENCE!!! We've all heard the clichés "Easy does It", "One Day at a Time", and
"Live and Let Live" but how do they apply to our everyday lives you may ask. Go
ahead.. Ask! Well since you asked so intently I'll give you my take on this
subject, since you insisted, YEEZE git off my back!!! I've only got one finger
to type this out. I got a friend who said he can type 40 words a minute 'cause
back in high school they noticed all the chicks were in the typing class, so
they took it to score with the ladies, they didn't get lucky, but at least now
he can type 40 words a minute! I digress, back to the subject at hand, have
patience with me all you little darlin's. I think I have Alzheimer's, but I
forget! YUK-YUK!! Things only happen in their time, not ours. Sure we can give
it our best shot, but if it don't happen immediately we get all upset and try to
force it, and we know how well that works! Be Cool Fool!! I one time was working
on the Little missus's trike and got pissed off with a hammer in my hand and
slammed the tire (at least I had enough control not to hit the tank, that would
leave a mark), well that hammer bounced back and damn near cold-cocked me in my
cabasa (head, for those who don't remember Speedy Gonzalas cartoons). Ever since
then I kept a bottle of Jack Daniels in the shop and when I got frustrated I hit
that instead. See what lack of patience gets you, Bloody and Drunk!! I guess it
comes from a lack of TOTAL control on our part so we get mad, and lose our
patience. With things, people, family, friends, government, you name it. My wife
has a potholder in the kitchen that reads "God Grant me Patience, and I want it
Now!". And another one is the two Buzzards looking over a barren desert and one
says "Patience my Ass, I'm going to Kill something!" The definition of
impatience is standing in front of a microwave oven going "Come On, Come On!!"
We need to slow down and smell the flowers, so to speak. Relax, close your eyes,
take some deep breaths, and chill out a little bit. Lower that blood pressure
our you'll be dead before your time, and you won't get done what you wanted to
in the first place. And if you do it will be half-assed. It's better to do less
things well than alot of things poorly. My daughter recently called me in tears,
all stressed out 'cause she hadn't slept in days, trying to do a full college
curriculum, work two jobs, and maintain her staus on the Dean's list Honor Roll.
I told her it all wasn't worth her health to do everything right now. If she
doesn't slow down she'll be dead and not get any of the fruits of her labor.
Enjoy Life right now. We all need to relax, be grateful for what we do have, and
give it our best shot within reason. Patience is a Virtue!!
On to Zzen chapter news; HELLO Zzen Chapter members, give me a call to tell me
what's going on, I'm fishing here! I feel sooo alone, you never call, I feel
sooo used! So you had your way with me and now you cast me aside for a new
conquest? I need to call my mother, she'll understand. OH you men are all
alike!! Think I'll turn Lesbo!! TEE-HEE, just kiddin'. We are all waitin' fer
spring to git ridin' again. The ABATE Swap Meet is comin' up, hope to see alot
of you there. I might be hangin' at that Freebird Custom goomers booth, stop by
and he'll give me your message. If you didn't make Legislative Days in Pierre
you can see it on his website also. Alright everybody look around to make sure
nobody is watching or listening 'cause I'm going to reveal a secret...is the
coast clear? Ok here we go.. The next meeting of Zzen is.....still
cool?.........april 4th @ the Chancellor Bar in Chancellor @ 1pm. Whew! Hope
nobody heard that, they have eyes EVERYWHERE!! HOOTIE-HOOT!!! Later, Wiz
