GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE, Are you going to bitch, moan and feel bummed out about what you don't
have or feel groovy and content for the many blessings you do have? One way you
feel lousy and the other you feel good. The choice is up to you. You might say
I'm delusional thinking everything is bunnys and rainbows but hey, I've got a
smile on my face! You can go through life as a serious intellectual or a raving
lunatic but who's going to have a more fun? Personally I'm a blend of both,
either a raving intellectual or a serious lunatic! You can always see how things
could be alot worse than you current situation. What's the baddest thing that
can happen? You die, but if you are right with your maker that's cool because
you won't have to put up with the bullcrap of this world anymore. OH LORDY,
LORDY SET ME FREE!!! But while I'm here I'm going to enjoy what I have. I'm
getting ready to head out to Sturgis on a 1940 rigid frame flathead 74, and me
with a broken tailbone, torn ligaments both knees, 2 shattered ankles, and being
54 years old it should be a challenge. All I can pack is 1 t-shirt and a
toothbrush because I need to make room for oil and tools! But I'm grateful to
have it. My latest custom chopper is down because the engine and tranny I bought
from a guy who said they were GOOD are toast. Back in the old days he would be
in intensive care and I would be in jail! So all I can do is take him to court
but that don't pull me down the road right now. The custom trike I built is
waiting for paint so that's out. All that is left is the flathead, thank God for
that! Anywho a life of humility and gratitude is better than a life filled with
anger and resentment. And that's all I've got to say about that! On to Zzen
chapter news; The July 12th meeting went well in Sherman at the Bullet bar, good
attendance with old [you know who you are K-Bob] and new members. We are growing
all the time, I guess people like to be part of a secret society. Slack brought
up that we can get a Government grant for land by involving off-road riders in
ABATE, something to think about. Dan Thomas won the SOL drawing but wasn't there
so he was Sh*t out of luck! We will be having the Gathering August 23rd at the
Bullet Bar again and the activities will include the following; Poker Run hay
ride {sounds fun], Hammerslagen [whatever that is, I think it's got something to
do with a BFH [Big Fu*king hammer ] and nails, Bean Bag toss, Horseshoes, Water
ballon War, and maybe a Dunk Tank [tryin' to find that Wiz guy for the Dunkee].
It should be a good time with camping available. Our youngest member DJ turns 21
and is headed to Sturgis for the first time, I hope he has a safe and memorable
trip. Slack won the 50/50 and gave half back, way to go Buddyboy! Our next
hidden clandesdine meeting is at Ed and Dea's Backwoods Bar in Marion on August
16th @ 1:30 pm. Come on over to be part of our world, it's pretty cool!
